The First Chu Gar ‘Wuguan’ Opens in Lao Sui’s Hometown, 2013

Some have described the opening of the first public Chu Gar  School (wuguan) in Lao Sui’s hometown as an historic event.  And so it was for at least two reasons.  Not the least was that I, RDH, a non-Chinese, was invited to cooperate in opening and teaching in the Chu Gar School.

RDH and Wong Yu Hua Cooperate

The late Wong Yuk Kong opened the first “Tong” martial art hall in the Dan Sui Area of Guangdong Province, circa 1940s.  It was known as the “Shang Mo Tong” or Highest Martial Hall.  Today annual celebrations continue lead by his son, Wong Yu Hua.

For more than 35 years, the late Cheng Wan Sifu hosted annual Chu Gar Celebrations in Hong Kong.  Hundreds of international Sifu attended the Grand Celebrations yearly with a myriad of martial arts styles represented!
